RESOLUTION NO. 135
WHEREAS, Section 701 and 705 of the Housing Act
of 195LI (Public Law 560, 83rd Congress, approved August
2, 19%) as amended, provides for aid in defraying cost
of planning; and
WHEREAS, the Territorial Planning Office's application
for a 701 grant of $15,000.00 from the Federal Government
for a $55,000.00 planning project in the metropolitan Hilo
area is deemed necessary and advisable for.the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the County of Hawaii
commit itself to certain obligations in order to receive
the said planning assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that:
1. The County of Hawaii will, upon approval of the
above mentioned application, assign the Director of the
Planning and Traffic Commission, County of Hawaii, to devote
10,per cent of his time and the Secretary to the Planning
and Traffic Commission, SR 14', 20 per cent of her time to
said project.
2. The County of Hawaii will further, upon approval
of the said application make a cash contribution of
$5,030.00 to this project to match the funds contributed by
the Federal Government,and the Territorial Planning Office.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Territorial Planning
office be a.nd.is hereby authorized to execute the necessary
applications in order to obtain the above mentioned
planning assistance.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County
of Hawaii be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the Territorial
Planning Office, Honolulu, Hawaii. ~A
