HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 163 Draft 01 1959 p n 1 ' f COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. ~G 3 REQUESTING THE COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC LANDS OF THE TERRITORY OF HAWAII TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A SPECIALSPERMIT TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, A PORTION OF THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION LANDS SITUATE AT KEAUKAHA., SOUTH HILO, HAWAII, FOR USE AS A POLICE RADIO REPEATER STATION. f~' f WHEREAS, the Police Department of the County of Hawaii is in the process of completing preliminary stages toward modernization of its radio communication system; and WHEREAS, surveys conducted by technicians indicate a need for a network of automatic repeater stations at strategic points throughout the Island of Hawaii to assure extended island-wide coverage in police transmissions and receptions; and WHEREAS, among the technically ideal sites contemplated for location of a repeater station is situated at Keaukaha, South Hilo, Hawaii, an area of 2."6 acres being a portion of the Hawaiian Homes Commission lands, a more particular description of the land involved being attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned parcel is at present unoccupied and unencumbered but still retains four antenna poles, a number of smaller poles, a station shed and electric power poles and lines left by the Hawaiian Airlines, Ltd., who formerly occupied said premises under general lease No. 3081, cancelled by mutual agreement on October 16, 1954, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that the Honorable Frank W. Hustace, Jr., Land Commissioner of the R441a A`sY s_-_--~~~.-v - -....a v, JUL 1 9959 n Territory of Hawaii be respectfully requested to exercise the good powers of his office to negotiate with the Hawailan Homes Commission for the issuance of a special permit to the Police Department of the County of Hawaii for the use of the aforesaid parcel of land gratuitously, together with authorization and permissive right to the use of the radio shed and antenna poles within the described area, a right of way to the area and right of way for electric power poles and lines, all for the purpose herein- before stated. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Frank W.
