RESOLUTION NO. 16 -
PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR WIDENING THE
INTERSECTION OF. KUKUAU,AND KAPIOLANI .STREET_S.IN._THE. CITY
OF, H ILO, , COUNTY AND _ TERRITORY OF OF. HAWAI 1.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the
County of Hawaii;
I.
That it is necessary, for the public use and purpose,
to wit; the widening of the intersection of Kukuau and
Kapiolani Streets in-the City of Hilo, County and Territory
of Hawaii, to take, acquire and condemn the land herein-
after described, and to that end and for the purpose the
County Attorney of the County of Hawaii be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to institute proceedings in eminent
domain, as provided by law, for the taking, acquisition and
condemnation of the land described as follows;
LOT 9®L-1®B
A portion of Lot 9-L-1 described in Land Court Certificate
of Title No. 22,629, issued to the Cooke Trust Company, Limited,
Trustee Under the Will and of the Estate of Akana Amel-ia_
Richardson, situate at Kukuau 1st, City of Hilo, District of
South Hilo, County and Territory of Hawaii..
Beginning at the North corner of this parcel of land
the coordinates of said point of beginning referred to
Government Survey Triangulation Station "HALAI" being 125.20
feet South-and 3372.61 feet East and running by azimuths
measured clockwise from true South;
1. 333° is# 30 x.2.,65 feet along Kapiolani St.;
Thence along a.25 feet

2. 930 41, 1511 43.14 feet;

II.
That, in the process of said proceedings in eminent
domain, said County Attorney be and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to negotiate terms of settlement, subject to
the approval of this Board and of the Court before which
such proceedings are prosecuted.
