COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION 1\10. 253
WHEREAS, the extremely hazardous driving conditions
on the existing _roadway between Honokaa and Kamuela
continues to be a most serious problem.to the people
of the County of Hawaii; and
'WHEREAS, the importance of a safe highway in this
vital link in the highway system is becoming even more
significant as the economy develops in the general area;
and
WHEREAS, the contemplated Honokaa-Kamuela Belt Road
has been accorded a low priority for construction; and
NHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Hawaii deems it most necessary and impoItant for the
welfare of the people of the county that the Honbkaa-
Kamuela Belt Road be constructed as soon as possible.
NOW, THE-BEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS of the County of Hawaii that the Honorable
Tim Ho, Superintendent of Public Works, State of Hawaii,
be and is hereby respectfully requested to exercise the
good powers of his office in awarding a higher priority
to the construction of the Honokaa-Kamuela Belt Road.
BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED that the County Clerk be
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the
Honorable Tim Ho, Superintendent of Public Works, State
of Hawaii.
