HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 255 Draft 01 1959 a COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 255 WHEREAS, Kailua-Kona is rapidly developing as a major resort area; and WHEREAS, this development is rapidly closing up the ocean front to the public; and . WHEREAS, it is essential for the maximum growth of the area that the public have access to the ocean; and WHEREAS, the Kailua Courthouse site has long been used as a park; and WHEREAS, it is presently being used as an entertainment center for tourists; and WHEREAS, this area needs to be preserved for public use, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, that His Excellency, William F. Quinn, Governor of the State of Hawaii, and the Honorable Eric Reppun, Land Commissioner of the State of Hawaii, be and they are hereby respectfully requested to exercise the good powers of their respective offices to make possible the development by the County of Hawaii of the area covered by Executive Order No. 1013, for park and recreational purposes by amending or otherwise modifying said order. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be directed to forward a copy of this resolution to His Excellency, William F. Quinn, Governor of the State of Hawaii and to the Honorable Eric Reppun, Land Commissioner of the State of Hawaii. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 4th day of November, 1959.
