COUNTY OF HA`tJAII - STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 280
WHEREAS, the Piihonua School lot, comprising an area of
1.82 acres, was set aside by Executive Order No. 659, dated
August,31, 1935, and placed under the control and management
of the. Department of Public Instruction for the following
public purpose, to wit, for Piihonua School; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Instruction has
closed the Piihonua School; and
WHEREAS, the District of Piihonua does not have any
adequate recreational or community activities hall facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the Department of Public
Instruction be and is hereby requested to petition the
Honorable Eric Reppun, Commissioner of Public Lands, State
of Hawaii, to utilize the good powers of his office in
requesting the Governor to rescind Executive Order No. 659
for school purposes and to set aside the said area for the
County of Hawaii for recreational and community activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
be sent to the appropriate officials in the Department of
Public Instruction.
