COUNTY OF 14AWAII - TERRITORY OF FAWAII
RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, by section 8 (a) 3d of Act 150, Session Laws of Hawaii
1957, $250,000.00 was appropriated by the Twenty-Ninth Legislature
for a small boat harbor at Kailua., Kona; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii listed the small boat harbor
project as No. 14 on the county priority list; and
iMEREAS, the severe limitation on available territorial bond
issue funds for public improvements makes a No. 14 rating almost
impossible to realize; and
fijiEREAS, the recent ruling by the Attorney General that the
$265,000400 earmarked for bona airport relocation could be used to
make the necessary studies; and
WHE1tE1 S, deviiled studies will be necessary before a. smell boat
harbor can be built at Kailua, Kona,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in
and for the County of Hawaii that the small boat harbor project for
f%"Iil.ua, Kona, be moved; to-priority--ND, 3-.--
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Governor be rec uested to make the
necessary funds available to the Board of Harbor Commissioners as soon
as possible so that the necessary studies can be made.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be instructed and
directed to send a copy. of this resolution to the Board of Harbor
Commissioners, the Territorial Planning Director, and the Governor
of the Territory of Hawaii.
