RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION-TO REAPPROPRIATE THE UNEXPENDED SUMS OF
$111,000.00 FROM GENERAL FUND AND $17,803.08 FROM HIGHWAY
FUND TO PAY CURRENT SALARY (REPRICING) ADJUSTMENTS, AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION.NO. 301.
WHEREAS, County of Hawaii Ordinance No. 195, entitled
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL ESTIMATED REVENUES, RECEIPTS,
AND UNEXPENDED'FUND BALANCES, AND ALL ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES`
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE,PERIOD JULY 1, 1957, TO
DECEMBER 31, 1957, appropriated the sums of $111,000.00 out
of the general fund and $17,803.08 out of the highway fund
for the purpose of paying retroactive salary adjustments
when the department of civil service had "repriced" all the
employees of the County of Hawaii who are subject to the
"repricing" provisions of the civil service laws; and
WHEREAS, due to circumstances beyond the control of
this Board of Supervisors it was impossible to pay the
said salary adjustments before the end of the fiscal year
ending December 31, 1957; and
WHEREAS, to reassure the employees of the County of
Hawaii that the above mentioned,sums totaling $128,803.08
would not be used for any purpose other than that for which
they were originally appropriated, this Board of Supervisors
adopted Resolution No. 301 of the County and Territory of
Hawaii 1957, whereby the said unexpended sums of,$111,000.00
from the general fund and $17,803.08 from the highway fund
appearing in County of Hawaii Ordinance No. 195 were rem
appropriated and set aside for the purpose of -paying retroactive

salary (repricing) adjustments to employees of the County
of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has elected to
proceed with the paying of current salary (repricing)
adjustments commencing October 1, 1958, and ending
December 31, 1958•
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE M ARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii, that such
portions of said unexpended sums of $111,000.00 from the
general fund and $17,803.08 from the highway fund appearing
in said County of Hawaii Ordinance No. 195, as may be
necessary to meet the obligations of the County of Hawaii
on account of said current salary (repricing) adjustments
be and they are hereby reappropriated and set aside for
the purpose of paying current salary (repricing) adjustments
for the period October 1, 1958, to December 31, 1958;
inclusive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining balance,-
if any, of said unexpended sums of $111,000.00 from the
general fund and $17,803.08 from the highway fund be and
they are hereby returned to the general fund and set
aside for the specific purpose of meeting contemplated
salary increases for department heads and non civil service
employees in and for the County of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 301 of
the County and Territory of Hawaii be and it is hereby
rescinded.
