On December 15, 2009 the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee
considered the referenced bill to amend Section 24-167 of the Hawai'i County Code by
including additional safety requirements for towing vehicles and trailers. The bill was sent
forward with a positive recommendation and is scheduled for first reading at the Hawai'i
County Council meeting on January 6, 2010.
On December 28, 2009 we sent revised language requesting that it be considered as a
draft 2 of the bill. We have subsequently discovered another omission in our proposed
language to amend Bill No. 182.
We request that Bill 182 be deferred until the next Council meeting on January 22, 2010.
Prior to that meeting we will be submitting amended language.
