Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 13, reports as follows:
Communication No. 13, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated December 2, 1998,
nominates Mr. Eazl T. Eckart of Kona to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission.
A lifetime resident of Hawaii, Mr. Eckart has been a pazent facilitator with the State of Hawaii
Department of Education. Mr. Eckart will replace Tsuyoki Nakashima whose term will expire
on December 31, 1998. Of no political party affiliation, he will serve a term to end
December 31, 2003.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 3, Section 7-3.2 of the Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a
liquor commission consisting of seven members who shall be appointed by the mayor and
confirmed by the council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of appointment of Mr. Eazl T. Eckart to
the Hawaii County Liquor Commission.
