COUNTY OF HM-MII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 557
WHEREAS, the President of the United States of America
has issued a proclamation urging the citizens of this Nation
to observe Friday, October 24, 1958, as United Nations
Day by means of community programs which will demonstrate
their faith in the United'Nations and contribute to a

better understanding of its aims, problems, and accomplish-
,
ments; and
WHEREAS, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii.has
issued a statement calling upon the people of the Territory
of Hawaii to promote and participate in the observance of
United Nations Day; and

(t WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the people
of this County reaffirm their faith in the purposes and
principles of the United Nations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors in and for the County of Hawaii, that this
i
Board reaffirm its faith in the purposes and principles
of the United Nations,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the people of this County
be and they-are hereby urged, by means of community
programs and other activities, to demonstrate their faith
