Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 23-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 23-99, transmitted by Director of Personnel Michael R. Ben, via Communication
No. 73, dated December 30, 1998, amends Ordinance No. 98-51, as amended, the Salary
Ordinance, by adding a new section, Section 8.14 Data System Deparhnent.
A proposed amendment to the Hawaii County Charter to establish a Data System Department
was submitted to the voters of the County of Hawaii on November 3, 1998. The County Clerk
has since certified that the amendment was approved by a majority of voters voting upon said
amendment. Therefore, Resolution No. 23-99 amends the Salary Ordinance by adding a new
Section 8.14 Data System Department and renumbering the current Section 8.14 Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to Section 8.15.
Pursuant to Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance
maybe made be resolution of the council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 23-99
and recommends its adoption.
