Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 126, reports as follows:
Communication No. 126, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated January 25, 1999,
nominates Jude E. Mattos of Honomu to the Hawaii County Liquor Control Adjudication Board.
A lifetime resident of Hawaii, Mr. Mattos is retired due to disability, and a current member of the
National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) and the Concerns of Police Survivors
(COPS). Of no political affiliation, Mr. Mattos will serve a term to end December 31, 2003.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 3, Section 7-3.3, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a liquor
control adjudication board consisting of five members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the approval of the appointment of Jude E. Mattos to
the Hawaii County Liquor Control Adjudication Board.
