Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 55-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 55-99, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, via Communication
No. 182, dated February 23, 1999, authorizes a transfer of funds. The transfer is as follows:
From:
O10-911-5912.21-339 Misc. Insurance Claims & Judgement General $20,000
To:
010-911-5912.71-341 Charter Commission General $20,000
The aforementioned funds are in addition to the $10,000 previously budgeted. With a total
appropriation of $30,000, the Charter Commission should be able to begin its review as mandated by
the County Charter. Additional funds will be included in the 1999-2000 operating budget.
Pursuant to Section 15-3, Hawaii County Charter, Mandatory Charter Reviews, the Council shall
appropriate funds to enable the commission to carry out its duties, including the hiring of necessary
staff.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 55-99 and
recommends its adoption.
