COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO.
REQUESTING THE TREASURER OF THE TERRITORY OF HAWAII TO
ADVANCE $25,000.00 FOR STUDY AND INVESTIGATION OF WATER
RESOURCES IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, MORE PARTICULARLY IN
THE SOUTH KOHALA AND THE NORTH AND SOUTH KONA DISTRICTS,
AS PER ACT 2.80, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII, 1953.
WHEREAS, by Section 1, paragraph 5, item r, of Act
28o"; Session Laws of Hawaii, 1953, the Legislature of
the Territory of Hawaii appropriated the sum of $800,000.00
for water development in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, there is a great need for water resources
study and investigation in the South Kohala and North
and South Kona Districts; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Supply of the County of
Hawaii by resolution number 59, is desirous of conducting
a study of the underground water resources in these
districts; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii and the Board of Water
Supply of the County of Hawaii are desirous of obtaining
an advancement of $25,000.00 to undertake this study in
cooperation with the E P C A and the United States
Geological Survey,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that the
Treasurer of the Territory of Hawaii and the Priorities
Committee be and are hereby respectfully requested to
advance to the County of Hawaii the sum of $25,000.00
as its contribution towards the water resources study
and investigation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County
of Hawaii be and he i s,,4etc@,by,._^ uthoos-yz and directed to

forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable Kam
Tai Lee, Treasurer of the Territory of Hawaii, the Honorable
Paul J. Thurston, Chairman of the Priorities Committee,
the Treasurer and Auditor of the County of Hawaii and to
the Manager-Engineer of the Board of Water Supply, County
of Hawaii.
