HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 075 Draft 01 1957 r COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO.S REQUESTING INSERTION INTO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTHfS APPROPRIATION, FUNDS FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL IN THE PAHALA DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the mosquito control problem has been a prolonged source of concern in the Fahala community; and WHEREAS, mosquitoes have been found to be breeding in used or.unused cans, pots, and other receptacles in the vicinity of homes and buildings and also in pools and puddles in the general community area; and WHEREAS, fogging or the spraying of fog chemical is effective against only the adult mosquitoes and its primary function is to'supplement other more permanent control measures; and WHEREAS, the Health Department has recommended a total attack on all phases of the mosquito life cycle for an effective control program, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii, that the Territorial Legislature, now assembled, be requested to insert into the Health Departmentts appropriation, funds to establish and provide for an adequate mosquito control program in the Pahala District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable Senators and Members of the House of Representatives of the Twenty-Ninth Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii and to the Territorial Department of Health, Honolulu, T.
