REQUESTING THE LEGISLATURE OF THE TERRITORY OF HAWAII TO MAKE THE TERRITORY ASSUME THE COST OF MAINTAINING AKAKA FALLS PARK IN THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH HILO, COUNTY OF HAWAII. WHEREAS, Akaka Falls Park in the District of South Hilo, County of Hawaii, is part of the territorial park system; and WHEREAS, because of insufficient funds on the part of the board of commissioners of agriculture and forestry which has jurisdiction over all territorial parks, the County of Hawaii has borne all the cost of maintaining Akaka Falls park; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is in no condition to carry this extra financial burden, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors in and for the County of Hawaii that the Honorable Senators and Representatives from the Island of Hawaii to the Twenty-Ninth Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii,.now assembled at Iolani Palace, Honolulu, Oahu, be hereby respectfully requested to exercise the good powers of their offices to secure the passage of legislation to make the territory assume the cost of maintaining Akaka Falls park in the District of South Hilo, County of Hawaii. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be directed and instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to each of the Honorable Senators and Representatives from the County of Hawaii.
