COUNTY OF HAWAII - TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO.~
WHEREAS, the tidal wave of March 9, 1957, caused
considerable property damage throughout the Territory
of Hawaii including the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Territory
of Hawaii grant some measure of relief to alleviate to
some extent said losses and suffering caused by such an
act of God.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
S.upervisors in and for the County of Hawaii that the
Twenty-Ninth Legislature be and is hereby respectfully
requested to enact legislation granting'to the victims
of the March 9, 1957 tidal wave some measure of relief in
accordance with the dictates of brotherhood and humanity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
he is hereby authorized and directed to forward copies of
this resolution to the Honorable President of the Senate,
the`Honorable Speaker of the House, and to the Honorable
Senators and Representatives from the County of Hawaii.
