Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 67-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 67-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 215, dated March 19, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Ms. Sandra Todd.
Ms. Sandra M. Todd has graciously donated a combination exercise/workout gym to the South
Kohala Police Station in memory of her son, Steven Rapoza, who was killed by a drunk driver in
August 1996.
The retail value of the exercise equipment is {$520) five hundred twenty dollars and no cents.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Secfion 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 67-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Ms. Sandra M. Todd at 22 Pakalana Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
