We are faced with the possibility that Hawai'i County's share of the TAT revenues may be withheld in order to help balance the State's budget. The TAT is Hawai'i County's second largest source of revenue. The complete elimination of TAT revenues will have dire consequences on our operating budget and will result in the need to curtail and possibly eliminate services that will negatively impact the public health, safety and welfare of our community. Due to the urgency, I would like to request that this resolution be waived from committee and heard at the full Council scheduled for January 22, 2010. lY!dwe Attachment < ~ eS. ;;l'i 3- \ D ) Comm.
