Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 179, reports as follows:
Bill No. 179, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 635,
dated December 1, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-65, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 2010, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Kuakini Highway Improvements,
Hualalai Road to Ali`i Highway - Federal 110.399.5397.86 $24,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
Federal Grants Receivable $24,000
The Kuakini Highway Improvement project continues the existing Kuakini Highway 4-lane
cross-section approximately 1.5 miles, beginning at Hualalai Road and ending at Wai`aha
Stream. This appropriation represents the federal funding for the planning phase for the County
and State labor portion of the work.
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget
for that year with a two-thirds vote.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 179 and
recommends it pass first reading.
