Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 82-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 82-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 282, dated April 26, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Dirk Arthur.
Mr. Dirk Arthur of Illusioneering, Inc., aworld-renowned magician in Bally's production show
"Jubilee" has graciously donated one male white Bengal tiger to the Deparhnent of Parks and
Recreation, Panaewa Zoo.
The value of the tiger is ($15,000) fifteen thousand dollars and no cents.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 82-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Mr. Dirk Arthur of Illusioneering, Inc. at 4370 West Torino Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada
89139.
