Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 90-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 90-99, transmitted by Fire Chief Edward Bumatay, via Communication No. 306,
dated May 12, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Chevron Products Company.
Chevron U.S.A., Inc. has graciously donated one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) to
the Hawaii County Fire Department to help defray costs incurred by fire department personnel
while attending the Hawaii Petroleum Fire Protection Course to be held on Oahu from
May 24-28, 1999.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 90-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Mr. Dave Young, Public Affairs Manager, Chevron Products Company at 1001 Bishop
Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.
