Your Committee on Finance, to which was refereed Resolution No. 91-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 91-99, transmitted by Fire Chief Edward Bumatay, via Communication No. 307,
dated May 13, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial
Fund.
The Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund has graciously granted four thousand nine hundred nineteen
and 60/100 dollars ($4,919.60) to the Hawaii County Fire Department for the purchase of rescue
equipment for the Waiakea and Kailua stations.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 91-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Dr. and Mrs. Frank Sayre at P.O. Box 1285, Kailua-Kona,~Hawaii 96745.
