Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 99-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No 99-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 321, dated May 24, 1999, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Hawaii Police
Athletic Federation.
The Hawaii Police Athletic Federation has graciously donated five hundred dollars ($500) to the
Hawaii County Police Department for use, as the department deems worthy.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
county, may accept gifts of donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 99-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Dennis Peterson, President, Hawaii Police Athletic Federation at P.O. Box 22623,
Honolulu, Hawaii 96823
