COUNTY OF HAWAII TERRITORY OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO.
9
WHEREAS, one of our outstanding young men on the
Island of Hawaii has been nominated by the Future Farmers
of America as a recipient of the American Farmer Degree,
a top honor to be awarded by the Future Farmers of America
at its annual convention in Kansas City, Missouri, in
October of this year; and
WHEREAS, this young man, CHARLES T. BANQUIL,.under
whose modest and humble exterior lies a mind and a desire
to overcome the many obstacles inherent in the very
important field of agriculture, is richly deserving of
such an award; and
WHEREAS, CHARLES T. BANQUIL and others like him
have contributed, and are contributing, much towards the
development and strengthening of our economic structure;
and
WHEREAS, the people of the District of Puna are
spearheading a drive to raise funds to assure CHARLES
T. BANQUIL'S presence at the convention of the Future
Farmers of America in Kansas City in order that he may
personally receive this highly coveted American Farmer
Degree,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors in and for the County of Hawaii that this
Board extend to CHARLES T. BANQUIL and the people of Puna
its sincere congratulations and best wishes, together
with the expression of its intense pride in the accomplishments
of CHARLES T. BANQUIL and others like him who have contributed

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County
of Hawaii be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to CHARLES T. BANQUIL.
