Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 114-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 114-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 360, dated June 22, 1999, authorizes the Mayor to enter into amulti-year agreement for an
Unlimited Usage Amendment to Westlaw Subscriber Agreement.
Currently the County of Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney expends $1,425 for its
Westlaw usage and compact disk subscriptions. By entering into amulti-year agreement for a
period beginning August 1, 1999 and ending July 31, 2002, the County will be saving $225 per
month.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Cormittee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 114-99
and recommends its adoption.
