WHEREAS, by Section 1 of Act 289 of the Session Laws
of Hawaii 1957,,the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Hawaii has been authorized by the Legislature of the
Territory of Hawaii to issue bonds for public improvements
within the limitations of the provisions of the Organic
Act, as amended, and Chapter 139 of the Revised Laws of
Hawaii 1955, as amended; and
WHEREAS, by Section 2 (e) of said Act 289, the said
Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii has appropriated
out of the moneys to be realized from the bond issues
aforesaid the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
(:;2505000.00) for the purpose of establishing, developing
and improving public parks in .and for the County of Hawaii;
and
WHEREAS, the construction, development, and expansion
of recreational areas in and for the County of Hawaii must
be made to keep pace with the ever-growing needs of our
citizenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that the
Honorable James Kealoha, Chairman and Executive Officer
of'the County of Hawaii; the Honorable Yoshito Tanaka,
County Attorney of the County of Hawaii; and the Honorable

-'----Richard Tanabe, Treasurer of the County of Hawaii, be and
are hereby authorized, and directed to take such steps
necessary to accomplish the issuance of bonds as authorized

by said Act 289 of the Session Laws of Hawaii 1957 in
the amounts and for the purposes in this resolution herein
specified, and in accordance with the provisions of the
Organic Act, as amended, and Chapter 139 of the Revised
Laws of Hawaii 1955, as amended,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
he is hereby authorized and directed to forward copies of
this resolution to the Honorable James Kealoha, Chairman
and Executive Officer of the County of Hawaii, the Honorable
Yoshito Tanaka, County Attorney of the County of Hawaii;
and the Honorable Richard Tanabe, Treasurer of the County
of Hawaii.
