RESOLUTION TO REAPPROPRIATE THE UNEXPENDED SUMS OF
$111,000.00 FROM GENERAL FUND AND $17,803.08 FROM
HIGHWAY FUND TO PAY RETROACTIVE SALARY (REPRICING)
ADJUSTMENT.
WHEREAS, County of Hawaii Ordinance No. 195,
entitled AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL ESTIMATED REVENUES,
RECEIPTS, AND UNEXPENDED FUND BALANCES, AND ALL ESTIMATED
EXPENDITURES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE PERIOD JULY
1, 1957, TO DECEMBER 31, 1957, appropriates the sums of
$111,000.00 out of general fund and .$17,803.08 out of
highway fund for the purpose of paying retroactive salary
adjustments when the department of civil service has
`trepriced" all the employees of the County of Hawaii who
' are subject to the "repricing" provisions of the civil

service laws; and
WHEREAS, due to circumstance beyond the control of
the board of supervisors it will be impossible to pay the
said salary adjustments before the end of the fiscal year
ending December 31, 1957; and .
WHEREAS, to reassure the county employees that the
aboveme.ntio.ned sums totaling $128,803.08 shall not be
used for any purpose other than that for which they were
originally appropriated,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii, that the
unexpended sums of $111,000.00 from the general fund and
$17,803.08 from the highway fund appearing in the County
of Hawaii Ordinance No. 195 be, and they are, hereby

reappropriated and set aside for the purpose of paying
retroactive salary (repricing) adjustments to employees
of the County of Hawaii, together with any other sum or
sums that may be appropriated in the 1958 budget for
similar purpose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the county clerk be
directed to forward a copy each of this resolution to
the county auditor, county treasurer and department of
civil service, County of Hawaii.
