RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAI:tTO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, OFFICE OF YOUTH SERVICE, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A
DARE/OYS GRANT.
WHEREAS, the State Department of Human Services Office of Youth Servlce,is
desirous of providing funding for expenses to further the education of the DARE
officers; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under the DARE/OYS Grant;
, ,
WHEREAS,pursuant to sections 46~7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds o,r for otherassistanc~;
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY, THE COUNCIL. OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro isherebyauthorlied and designated to sign in the
name of the Countyprojec:t Number DHS-98:-0YS-'-6331, which willeffec:tuate these
purposes.. .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward
copies of this ResoluUontosaid Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of Police, and any other
interested governmental agencies.
