RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT.TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/SEXUAL
ASSAULT TRAINING GRANT.
, WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department of the
Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, is desirous of
providing funding to conduct training and provide supplies for the department's first
line supervisors and detectives in domestic violence and sexual assault
investigations; and train additional sexual assault nurses; and.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department 1s ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Grant;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the
name of the County Project Number 96-VAWA-7, which will effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward
copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of Police, and any other
interested governmental agencies.
