SUBJECT: Report from Ad Hoc Committee Relating to the 2010 -2011 Budget
The Ad I -loc Committee has met with the following department heads and their staff:
Civil Defense, Corporation Counsel, Data Systems, Environmental Management, Finance, Fire,
Human Resources, Housing & Community Development, Mass Transit, Office of the Mayor,
Parks & Recreation, Planning, Police, Public Works, and Research & Development.
The Committee has determined that all the departments are taking measures to reduce expenses in
preparation of the 2010 — 2011 budget. Specifically targeted are overtime costs, the hiring of new
personnel, the reduction of contract hires, the reduction of travel expenses, and decreasing the number
of vacant funded positions.
Therefore, the Committee makes no recommendations at this time.
