RESOLUTION NO. 314 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF
MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR TWO (2) HOOK ROLL ON /OFF TRUCKS AND SIX (6) ROLL
ON /OFF BINS
WHEREAS, Section 10 -11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be
approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County is in need of two (2) hook roll on /off trucks and six (6) roll on /off bins to receive
and haul refuse from the Miloli'i transfer station; and
WHEREAS, a settlement agreement with UPW requires that the County takes over this service, which is
currently being contracted out, no later than August 1, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for
three (3) 75 cubic yard refuse trailers for solid waste operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the
acquisition of two (2) hook roll on /off trucks and six (6) roll on /off bins for solid waste operations and that
sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the
terms of the agreement.
