For the Council's consideration, please find attached a bill to amend the Hawai`i County Code to
prohibit smoking in all motor vehicles if a person under eighteen years of age is in the motor vehicle.
The Hawai`i County Code currently provides prohibition for smoking in certain places, as found in
section 14 -21 of chapter 14, General Welfare.
The attached bill adds motor vehicles whenever a minor is present to the list of places established in
section 14 -21.
