RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTl OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO ANAGREBMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT. TO HRS 46-7, FOR A STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE
.GRANT .
WHEREAS, the United States of America tbrougbthe State Department of tbe
Attorney General CrimePrev~ntion and Justice Assistance Division, is desirous of
providing funding for multi-jurisdictional task force programs that integrate
federal, state and local dh1glaw enforcement agehcies and prosecutors for the
purpose of enbancing interagency coordination and intelligence and facilitating
multijurisdictional investigations;
WHEREAS, tbe Hawaii County. Police Department is ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under tbe:Statewide Narcotics TaskForce Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to.Sections46-.7of tbe Hawaii Revised statutes, tbe
Federal government may enter into agreements with tbe Council of .the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other. assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY.THK COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII tbat
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is berebyauthorized and designated to sign in the
name of the County ~roject Number 97-DB-2I,whicb will effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the.CountyClerk is hereby directed to forward
. copies of this Resolution to said MayorYarnashiro, tbe Chief of Police, and any otber
interested governmental agencies.
