WHEREAS, the purpose of this national event is to provide citizens with a better understanding about
their County government functions; and
WHEREAS, as part of this alliance, the Hawaii County Council will invite students, community groups
and county employees to participate in scheduled activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
requests Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro to proclaim Wednesday, April 21, 1999 as "County Government Day ".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby designates up to $1,000
from the Clerk Council SVC OCE Miscellaneous Contract Services Account No. 010- 101 - 5101.02 -115 to be
expended on County Government Day activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the County Clerk Al
Konishi and the Honorable Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro and all County Departments and Agencies.
