RESOLUTION NO. 312 98 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ABANDONMENT AND QUITCLAIM OF ROADWAY REMNANT AT KAUMALUMALU, NORTH KONA, HAWAII, TO RICHARD ADCOCK, TAX MAP KEY (3)7-7-04:049. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii owns a 257 square foot roadway remnant on Alii Drive, at Kaumalumalu, North Kona, Hawaii, Tax Map Key (3)7-7-04:049, which abuts the property of Richard Adcock~ and WHEREAS, adjacent roadway remnants immediately to the north and south of Richard Adcock's property were conveyed to the abutting landowners by the State ofHawaii~ and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Planning Department that the existing Alii Drive right-of-way is fifty (50) feet wide with no future road-widening~ and WHEREAS, all roadway remnants, once established, continue until vacated, closed, abandoned or discontinued by resolution of the Council; and WHEREAS, Section 2-118(b), Hawaii County Code, allows the Director of Finance to establish a price for remnants under 2,500 square feet~ and WHEREAS, the Real Property Tax Division has assessed the roadway remnant at $7.00 per square foot, for a total of$I,799.00 for 257 square feet; and WHEREAS, Sections 2-111 and 2~ 118, Hawaii County Code, authorizes the disposal of road remnants by offer of sale to the abutting owner; ~. ..'- ...-..
