RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTy OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN 'AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS46."..7, FORA VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN GRANT.
WHEREAS, the ,United States of America through the State Department of the
Attorney General Crimepreventlon and Justice Assistance Division, is desirous of
providi'ng funding to. improve the quality of investigation into extra famUialand
intrafamIlial sexual and physical abuse of children;
~EREAS. the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willIng to proceed
with itS obligations under the Violence Against Children Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant tO,Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
Fetieral government: may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro, is hereby, authorized and designated to. sign in,the
name of the County Project Number 97 "-DIJ-13 , which will effectuate these purposes.,
BE,IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Cierk is hereby directed to forward
copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of ~olice, and any other
interested governmental agencies. .'
