REPORT OF THE
COMMITTEE ON PLANNING
Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 673, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 673, transmitted by County Clerk Kenneth Goodenow, dated
December 2, 2009 presents a resolution to amend the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the
Council of the County of Hawai`i to include protocols for Council- initiated amendments to the
Subdivision Control Code and Zoning Code of the Hawai`i County Code.
The amendments to Chapter 23, Subdivision Code; and Chapter 25, Zoning Code, would be
referred to the Planning Director and the Windward and Leeward Planning Commissions directly
from the Council's Planning Committee for the required 120 -day review.
County Clerk Kenneth Goodenow proposed to further amend Resolution No. 283 -09 with the
contents of Communication No. 641.2. Your Committee members voted unanimously to
approve the proposed amendments contained in Communication No. 641.2.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 283 -09,
as amended to Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
