COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 695
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 695, reports as follows:
Communication No. 695, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated February 3, 2010, nominates
Mr. Jerry Hamamoto of Council District 4 to serve on the County of Hawaii Pension Board.
A lifelong resident of Hawai`i, Mr. Jerry Hamamoto retired in March 2009 as the Accountant IV
for the County of Hawai`i Department of Finance. Of no political party affiliation, he will serve
a term to expire on December 31, 2015.
Deputy Corporation Counsel Craig Masuda and several Council Members spoke in support of
Mr. Jerry Hamamoto's appointment.
Council Member Onishi advised him that he did not need to appear before the full council for
confirmation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Jerry Hamamoto to the
County of Hawai`i Pension Board.
