OF HAWAII <br /> <br />318:;98 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION COUNTY OF <br />HAWAII, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT A TION, STATE <br />OF HAWAII, FOR BICYCLE SAFETY EDUCATION SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation of the State of Hawaii has authorized funding for Bicycle Safety <br />Education; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the funds provided by the Department of Transportation for Bicycle Satety Education are derived .. <br />from grants provided by the Federal government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the <br />Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of <br />the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being <br />or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl, that the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Hawaii, is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Department of <br />Transportation, State of Hawaii, for Bicycle Safety Education Services. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above- <br />referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Hawaii <br />pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copie~ of this resolution to <br />the Department of Parks and Recreation, 25 Aupuni Street, Room 210, Hilo, Hawaii, and the Office of the Mayor. <br /> <br />Dated at Hilo, Hawaii this 7th day of October <br /> <br />,1998. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY COUNCIL <br />County of Hawaii <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br /> <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION was by the <br />vote indicated to the right hereof adopted by the COUNCIL of the <br />County of Hawaii on October 7, 1998 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />A~ <br />COUNTY CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br /> AYES NOES ADS EX <br />ARAKAKI X <br />CHUNG X <br />LEITHEAD- TODD X <br />RAY X <br />REYNOLDS X <br />SANTANGELO X <br />SMITH X <br />TYLER X <br />YAGONG X <br /> 8 0 1 0 <br /> <br />Reference C-963/FC -273 <br />3D' 98 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />
