OF HAWAII 318:;98 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION COUNTY OF HAWAII, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT A TION, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR BICYCLE SAFETY EDUCATION SERVICES WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation of the State of Hawaii has authorized funding for Bicycle Safety Education; and WHEREAS, the funds provided by the Department of Transportation for Bicycle Satety Education are derived .. from grants provided by the Federal government; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl, that the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Hawaii, is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Department of Transportation, State of Hawaii, for Bicycle Safety Education Services. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above- referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copie~ of this resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, 25 Aupuni Street, Room 210, Hilo, Hawaii, and the Office of the Mayor.
