RESOLUTION AumORlZING THE OmCE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO
NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES GOCY 96-08-OSWITH THE DEPARTMENT
OF HUMAN SERVICES, STATE OF HAW Aa FOR CHllD CARE COORDINATOR
SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services of the State of Hawaii has authorized
funding for a Child Care Coordinator for the County of Hawaii, who shall be under the
supervision of the Office of the Mayor, in cooperation with the Mayor's Advisory Committee on
Children and Youth; and
WHEREAS,. the funds provided by the Department of Human Services for the Child Care
Coordinator are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county. departments
obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments
respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish. expend,
and receive any funds or other assistance in COMection with projects being or to be undertaken
pursuant to those powers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF.
HAW All. that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into Negotiated Agreement for
Services GOCY 96-08-05 with the Department of Human Services. State of Hawaii, for a Child
Care Coordinator serving the County of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to
sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the
Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Department of Human Services, the Office of the Mayor, and the
Mayor's Advisory Committee on Children and Youth.
