Please find attached for your review a bill to amend Ordinance No. 09 -48 relating to the International
Energy Conservation Code.
Ordinance No. 09 -48 is set to take effect on May 11. 2010, and at that time will adopt the 2006 Edition
ol'the International Energy Conservation Code. as amended, into our building code (Chapter 5 of the
I lawai'i County Code).
The attached bill changes the effective date of Ordinance No. 09 -48 from May 11, 2010, to January 1.
2011.

Relating to the International Energy Conservation Code.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
1- lawai'i, this written request is submitted with nt■ approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee to the full Council
for immediate action. In reviewing this matter. timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is dented, for whatever reason. I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Public Works and intergovernmental Relations Committee for
placement on its future agenda.
