In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
A monetary donation of $50 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used to
improve facilities at the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens, by The Fraternal Order of
Eagles - Hilo Hawaii Aerie #3642, Richard J. Robbins, President, 16 -111 Opukahaia
Street, Kea'au, Hawaii 96749.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor

Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge a $50 donation by the Fraternal Order of
Eagles for the Pana'ewa Zoo in gratitude for the work done in the Hilo community The donation will be used
to improve Zoo facilities
