SUBJECT: Presentation By Hawaii Energy Regarding The Expansion Of Hawaii Energy's
Incentive Program, Giving Cash Rebates To Hawai`i County Residents With The
Purchase Of Energy Star - Qualified Appliances.
Hawai`i Energy will make a presentation explaining Hawai'i State's expansion of Hawai'i
Energy's Incentive Program which gives cash rebates to I lawai`i County residents with the
purchase of energy star - qualified appliances. Hawai'i Energy's Incentive Program rewards
residents with cash upfront when they purchase energy - efficient appliances that will aid in
reducing their monthly energy bills, and also helps Hawai'i's enviromnent by reducing our
dependence on imported fuels. Hawaii Energy is the exclusive organization under contract with
the Hawaii State Public Utilities Commission to fulfill the rebates.
Please place this presentation by Hawaii Energy on the Food and Energy Sustainability
Committee for April 19, 2010. The presentation team will he coming from Honolulu and will
need a screen for a power point presentation. 1 would appreciate it if this committee could be
scheduled for mid - morning to allow for reasonable travel arrangements. I anticipate sixty
minutes for the presentation and questions and answers.
