Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Duane Hosaka of Council District 2 to the County of
Hawai'i Transportation Commission. Mr. Hosaka is a 46 -year resident of Hawai'i.
Since 2006, he is employed as a Civil Defense Staff Officer at the County of Hawai'i
Civil Defense Agency. From 1994 to 2006, he was employed by the County of Hawai'i
Department of Parks and Recreation.
Mr. Hosaka states that he is not affiliated with any political party. He recently served as
a member of the County of Hawai'i Transportation Commission. His term expired on
December 31. 2009 However, because he served out an unexpired term replacing
Ms. Kate Ahia, he is eligible for reappointment. If confirmed Mr. Hosaka will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2014. If you have any questions, please feel free to
