RES
WHEREAS, Joe Reynolds has been a Council Member of the County of Hawai'i since
December 2, 1996, representing Council District 7, the southern portion of North Kona and the
northern portion of South Kona; and
WHEREAS, during these past two years, Councilmember Reynolds has served as Vice
Chairman of the Committee on Public Works and Parks; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Councilmember Reynolds has also been a standing member of
numerous Standing Committees, and has been a steadfast advocate for the preservation of Kona's
historic coffee-growing region; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawai'i is truly appreciative of his dedicated public
service to the County of Hawai'i and his contributions as a member of the Hawai'i County
Council; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Reynolds will complete his term on December 7, 1998.
NOW, mEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY mE COUNCIL OF mE COUNTY OF
HA W AI'I that it hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Councilmember Reynolds for his years of
valuable service together with their best wishes for continued health, success and prosperity.
May the past happy memories be a prelude to future memories!
BE IT FURmER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawai'i transmit a true copy of
this resolution to Councilmember Joe Reynolds.

In addition, I extend my sincerest appreciation for the opportunity to work with you as your
Clerk since 1996. I've found you to be a man of high moral character and great integrity.
Regrettably, I couldn't fulfill all your requests and/or demands, but please know that this didn't
deviate from my feelings toward you. You have very good intentions and have always been very
good to work with. Thank you for the opportunity in allowing me to serve as your Clerk.
