I am currently a junior at Hilo High and have been playing in the county band for about half a year. I really think you should reconisder your move to cut funding for the county band. Not only is it a huge tradition here, but it is also the place I go to practice and gain valuable musical experience. I cannot explain how much county band has helped me musically in the past year. Again please reconsider because it would be hard for Hilo to lose such a huge part of it's history as well as for students like myself to lose something a place to go where we can hone our musical talents.
