Subject: Save the Hawaii County Band
Dear Hawaii County Council, February 26, 2010
I an the parent of 2 band students, and I an writing this letter to you today to urge you
support the Hawaii County Band. My children attend different schools, 1 public and 1
private. Yet when they have competitions, performances, or mass
clinics, the Hawaii County Band is always present to help and teach the students. In
addition they have provided opportunities and experiences for the students that will stay
with them for many years. The Hawaii County Band members are not just performers, they are
mentors!
By taking away the Hawaii County Band, you will be taking away experiences and
opportunities from our keiki. Hasn't enough already been taken from them where their
education is concerned?
Please consider saving the Hawaii County Band for our keiki and don't let monetary needs
end a program that has been with our community for more than a century!
